Occasionally we take in horses that have certain health issues, advanced age, or very young that we place in approved “foster homes”. In the case of young horses, we want to give them time to grow and just experience kindness and good care until they become old enough to be trained. These horses would come back to the Sanctuary when they have reached a certain age. Some older companion horses that need good food and water, shelter and kind words are also placed in Foster Homes. If there is a major medical problem with these horses, they will stay at the Sanctuary, or come back to the sanctuary, for the remainder of their life. We have a Foster Home Application that is required to insure that we are finding these horses the best environment possible.
