You Can Help MFMN Win the ASPCA Help A Horse Day Contest
Local Horse Rescue is competing to win ASPCA Help a Horse Day $20,000 Contest
MFMN is participating in the ASPCA’s national HelpAHorse Day contest for grant funds: April 26th through June 30th this year. The nationwide competition includes rescues, shelters and animal control agencies that adopt out equines, and is designed to raise awareness of the year-round lifesaving work done to find homes for horses. During the eight week competition for grant awards, MFMN will promote its adoptable horses, raise public awareness of the plight of at-risk horses and conduct fundraising events to increase donations. "SHOW-ME Your Adopted Horse" is the name of the adoption campaign that MFMN is using to share the rewarding experience of adopting a rescue horse.
How to help MFMN During the Campaign
There are four areas in which we will compete with other horse rescues for grant prizes that we can use to fund our programs:
Number of adoptions and commitments to adopt during the contest period
Fundraising during the adoption period

Adoptable Horses and Commitment to Adopt

To demonstrate your commitment to adopt a horse from MFMN within the next 12 months, complete the Commitment to Adopt form and make a nonrefundable deposit of $150. This deposit will be applied toward the adoption fee of one of the MFMN adoptable horses.
We would like your help to make this campaign and the event a success for horses. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to be part of a community of horse lovers wanting to make a difference in the lives of horses at risk in Missouri. If you want more information about volunteering during the adoption campaign, you can find out about our volunteer opportunities and apply online on the Volunteer web-page.
We care for a large number of permanent resident horses, which require more veterinary care and special grain and supplements that increase our operating costs. We are a 100% volunteer organization, so all the money you donate goes to help feed and care for the horses. Part of the contest is based on the amount of donations received during the contest period. So, giving during this period is especially important. If you are planning to make a year-end or one-time donation, please consider making your donation before June 30, so it will count toward our winning this $20,000 grant.
MFMN is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, meaning that all donations are tax deductible. Your donation, whatever the size or form, will enable us to continue the ever-important mission of caring for starved, neglected and abused horses.
