OUR HORSES

Ace is a beautiful horse who has a lot of energy. He cannot be ridden because of an hip injury when he was a yearling. His hip has healed and he is in excellent health, so he would make a great companion horse. He would be ideal for someone who is no longer interested in riding. If he is not adopted, he will be at the Sanctuary for many years.

Champ originally came from a sale barn. The owner of the sale barn took him home and was not been able to get much weight on him. When he came to us, he had a bad oozing abscess on his shoulder, and was very thin. As you can see in the picture, the abscess has completely healed and he looks like a Champ.

Marin came in due to a concerned citizen report. She came in with a body score of 1 (worst possible) and bad feet. She has a sway back and is arthritic. She was said to be a race horse at one time and then used as a brood mare. She has found a soft landing here at the Sanctuary. She is a gentle, kind soul that is loving all the attention she gets here.

Austin is a roan chestnut who is a very sweet boy. He has no chewing surfaces, so he cannot eat hay or grass. He would make a good companion horse for a Special approved home.
